Job SC15672 SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR Location The Woodlands, TX Type Contract Responsible for supporting and maintaining network and enterprise systems, both hardware and software, at our clientrsquos office. This includes overseeing all servers, firewalls, switches, and other related equipment. Provide a high level of customer service for users experiencing problems with hardware and software related issues. RESPONSIBILITIES Implement, maintain and support infrastructure hardware including servers, storage, firewalls, switches, and other related equipment in accordance with organizational and security standards, and projectoperational requirements. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, network, server, and storage resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs, including backups. Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Diagnose, repair and resolve any hardware, network or software issues or failures. Provide incident reports on significant events. Work alongside project teams to support on-going IT related work. Manage and maintain resolution of tickets in order to control process flow, and represent work effort. Manage and maintain backup and replication jobs, verify success and conduct regular testing. Manage and maintain security of infrastructure, including patch management and antivirus protection for all servers, network devices and endpoint computers. Make technology recommendations for hardware and software needs at both the enterprise and user levels. Provide after hours on-call support as needed. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelorrsquos Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical discipline. Equivalent work experience in the Information Technology field will be considered. Minimum 3-4 yearsrsquo experience working in information technology field with hands on experience in installing, supporting and maintaining infrastructure related hardware, software and processes. Strong technical aptitude and ability to research solve complex issues independently, within a team or with a vendor. Strong working knowledge of networking concepts, including TCPIP, Vlans, Ethernet, switching, routing and routing protocols (BGPOSPF), wireless, Telnet, DHCP, DNS, TACACS+ RADIUS. Excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills. Highly self-motivated, organized, detail oriented and be able to maintain a high level of flexibility. Proven ability to document in writing instructional material as related to the use and maintenance of technology. Ability to communicate and work effectively with vendors, clients and other technical staff. Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information. PREFERRED SKILLS Experience with VMware vSphere Hypervisor ESXi 5.5 or greater. Experience working with Linux and Windows servers. Experience with network monitoring tools. Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems , Microsoft Exchange , Active Directory domain architecture, IIS and other web services, NTFS permissions, role based security, Group Policy Objects Experience with Symantec Backup Exec, TrendMicro Endpoint Protection, SonicWall firewall administration, Avaya IP Office Manager. Working knowledge of NAS SAN storage systems. Knowledge and experience with IT security practices and processes. Familiar with UPS and power distribution hardware.
